SOMA SOMA SOMA Gathering at Wild Heart

Saturday, June 28, 2025 | 1:00–5:00 PM
WildHeart Center for Performance and Embodiment Practice | Wallkill, NY
Optional sleepover available

Join us for a solstice gathering where somatics, community, and creative expression meet. This retreat expands on SOMA SOMA SOMA*, offering a space for contemplative exploration, politicized somatics and joyful play—softening our membranes while staying rooted and engaged. Inspired by the intelligence of mycelium—how networks connect, nourish, and sustain life—this retreat is a space for cross-pollination between ideas, bodies, and movements.

Set in the nourishing environment of Wild Heart—where trees, soil, and fresh air are part of our practice and beingness, we will engage in movement improvisation, meditation, somatic exploration, drawing and journaling as practices of self and collective inquiry. We center politicized somatics, exploring the ways our bodies hold history, memory, and possibility. Through this work, we practice a desirable future, embodying new ways of being together in liberation and care.

This retreat is a space to practice radical care, self-inquiry, and community connection in ways that honor our interdependence and resilience.

At its core, this space is for our wider communities—activists, artists, students, caregivers, those questioning their activism, those working corporate jobs seeking deeper alignment, those struggling financially, those feeling trapped in extraction of their labor, disabled folks who are often excluded from care spaces. We recognize that how we locate ourselves as facilitator, how we structure access, and how we share resources are political acts, shaping the possibilities of our work. Our financial model reflects a commitment to challenging racial capitalism and expanding accessibility across different margins of power, money, and access to resources.
