Mouvementements:

Sabrina Benhamouche and myself will participate and offer a workshop “ Décoloniser son soma: écouter les archives du corps” as part of an invitation to join the “Mouvementements” gathering on April 5/6.

Sabrina Benhamouche and I will participate and offer a workshop, “Décoloniser son soma: écouter les archives du corps,” as part of an invitation to join the “Mouvementements” gathering.

Using the lens of "éducation populaire" and politicized somatics, Sabrina and Amélie invite participants to explore how our embodied selves are shaped through three territories: personal experience, place and dis-placement, and history. Through somatic practices, meditation, journaling, and dialogue, participants will engage with the embodied archives carried within them.

The workshop examines how colonial history and its systems—racial violence, capitalism, patriarchy, and heteronormativity—leave imprints on our bodies. It offers a space for deep listening, slowing down, and reconnecting with personal and collective narratives, fostering curiosity, imagination, and ancestral reflection.

During the 24-hour exploration of the gathering, there will be an active, all-night reading of Undrowned by Alexis Pauline Gumbs, a book that has just been translated into French.

Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals is a poetic and meditative book by Alexis Pauline Gumbs, a Black feminist writer, poet, and scholar.

Born from the encounter with the book Mouvementements, specified and energized by the encounter with the author Emma Bigé *, a gathering whose necessity is confirmed to the hosts Coralie Neuville and Sarah Ferré day after day. It is together that we will continue to nourish our soils, create the common, assume our singularities, learn to hurt ourselves less in militant action.

Through Sonnets 3 Fois, we explore the relationships between the outside and the intimate, on this ethical basis: welcome, support, allow, include, make porous the borders, touch and let ourselves be touched.

It is from there that we invite you for 24 hours of exploration including readings, somatic exploration time, workshops, encounters, as well as a local action in echo to global predation.
